Bring Back the Slow Set

I know plenty of people have harped on about this before but why did the slow set leave us and can we please, please, please have it back. Surely there is a demand for it from the teeny boppers right up to the pensioners (After all everyone likes a good snog!). And it's not like we don't have the music for it there are tonnes of slow songs in the charts every week that would fit very well into the clubs and pubs of today. The pub scene needs to get a bit more romantic, make some room on the floor and get people dancing. I'm sure there are places that do have slow sets and if you know of any share them with us. Let us know you thoughts on this - should we be starting a campaign to bring back the slow sets?
I look forward to you comments on this and remember the best comment of the week wins a month free membership on Maybefriends.com - The Home of Irish Dating.

It's 'scarper off the dancefloor time'!

Yes I remember the slow sets, that's when we all did a bunk to the ladies and waited until it was over...unless you really fancied someone and stood there with bated breath waiting to see if he'd come over and ask you "are ya dancin'?"

Best slowsets songs... Stairway to Heaven and Freebird... You got to dance, you got to smooch and you got to play air guitar on her back and headbang :-)

Singledad...I second that! They are fabulous slowset songs and the ones I most remember from back in the day :-)

The other one I always loved was Careless Whisper (but that's more of a girlie song, me thinks)

Cringe cringe cringe cringe! The DJ in our local rugby used to say "Now we're going to slow things down a bit and put on the erection section..." and we girls would get off the dancefloor like speeding bullets. In the meantime the lads just adjusted their bellies against the bar and ordered another pint. Those were the days!
