Committed relationships.
Last week's poll results are in and 52% of you believe that after about 3 to 5 dates you are in a committed relationship. 36% believe it takes a bit longer than that - 5 to 10 dates - I can foresee some problems with that - you better make it clear that you both understand when you are in a committed relationship.
This week the poll is about who should pay for the first date - probably a fairly predictable answer to that but I've been surprised before so we'll see.
I'm delighted to see how busy the blog has been over the last week - please keep it up as it is meant to spark debate.
Last weeks winner for best comment is Mr Tea but as I don't know your site name you will have to reveal your true identity to me (or at least your site one) in order to claim your prize!
We have a really busy month with events in March and many thanks to Delboy2712 and MrHazeleyes for organising them - looks like a fun month for all. Don't forget the Dublin meet and greet is on this Thursday so I look forward to seeing lots of you there.
Best comment of the week as always wins a months free membership on Maybefriends.com - the home of Irish Dating - I look forward to reading them.

Wow, thanks for the prize : )
I will email you my details.
Thanks again!
As for the question, I - as a man - think it's nice for the man to pay for the lady but it would be fine if she wanted to go halves.
I'd feel a bit odd not paying anything! Mind you, I still hold doors open for ladies and offer a seat on the train for them. Chivalry is not quite dead yet :D
Not to be deliberately pedantic (or maybe I am!) but unless four+ people voted equally this morning for four different options....surely each value should start at zero, then vote one would be 100% for that option....vote 2 for a different option would be 50%/50% and zero for the two NOT voted for, etc etc...otherwise results are inaccurate....yes I know - i'm a statistics nerd....no hope for me.....
Ami, we start every poll off with 1 vote for each answer so they are all starting from the same point - if we start it at 0 it seems to really confuse the poll so we have found it easiest to do it this way.
*votes Ami off the island*
:D
still stressed out over how the google poll was calculated :-( *ami packs calculator in bag and leaves island*
darn, should have posted anonymously, now everyone will know I'm a nerd.....
Mr Tea, it's nice to know that chivalry is not dead...truly it is, because it's rarely seen anymore.
To the question though, on a first date I would never go for dinner, just coffee or drinks, and would ensure that we each paid.
If that date went well, and the man invited me on a 2nd date - for dinner...I would always assume that we would go dutch...paying half each.
If he insisted on paying and I wanted to see the guy again, I would agree to it ONLY if he allowed me to do so the next time.
If he insisted on paying and I didn't want to see him again, I would insist on paying half (and hope it didn't hurt his feelings)

I'm actually amazed at the amount of people who DONT hold doors open, dont offer seats to elderly or disabled people, dont let people in front of them in a queue if they only have a few items or its an elderly person, etc....on a bus last week my mam was the only one on a packed bus to get up and offer a seat to an elderly woman. My mam is 70+, arthritic with heart trouble, breathing difficulties, etc...and all these fit healthy young ones sitting there staring into space pretending not to see! Keep up the chivalry Mr Tea - you're a dying breed apparently.
Ami.. people do hold doors open. just not for you ;)
yes well dont let that door hit you on the ass on your way out YM!
Jealousy there ami moi dear.. sure t'will get ya nowhere ;)
