Holiday Romances

As spring is in the air and summer approaches lots of people are thinking about their forthcoming holidays and booking their two weeks of glorious sunshine - and hoping for a fabulous holiday romance to go along with it.
What is it that makes holiday romances so fantastic? Is it because you both know it's only for a week or two so you can give it your all. Just as those first seeds of doubt about your compatibility begin to grow you can both hop on separate planes never to meet again. You more than likely go for someone totally unsuitable, just for the laugh and you both know this would never work in the real world.
Of course you've left all your pressures of home/work life behind and you are at your most relaxed with nothing to do all day but laze in the sunshine and think about where you'll go that night, so your mood is bound to be excellent for the whole time. In the words of the great Van Morrison "wouldn't it be great if it was like this all the time" - well no actually, it wouldn't. If this was normal there would be nothing exciting about it at all, it's the fact that it is only two weeks a year. That you have left your real life behind, that you don't ever have to see them again after two weeks - that's what makes it special and fun.
I look forward to reading your comments on this - do share some of your holiday romance experiences with us. - Best comment of the week wins a months free membership on Maybefriends.com - The home of Irish Dating.

Do people actually have holiday romances anymore? I thought they went out of fashion along with slow sets....

The best holiday romance I ever had was...wait for it...with the bingo-caller at Mosney holiday camp when I was 14 years old :-)

My sister took her daughter (my niece) and I and I had to keep dodging them everywhere we went...it was so exciting and romantic.

Sadly, we were caught having a little kiss behind the bingo machine on the last day and that put an end to it :-(
