If they don't call then they don't want to call
The results of last week's poll are in. We asked you why you don't call someone when they have given you their number. Well we all know it, even though we don't like to think it, but if they don't call it's because they didn't want to (66%) - damn it, I was sure all those guys were just unfortunate to lose my number!
Although we can comfort ourselves that 20% don't have the courage to call - if you are one of those 20% then think of this - if they didn't want you to call they wouldn't have given you their number so go on and call otherwise they'll think you didn't want to.

This week's poll is about age gaps - what is acceptable? I look forward to seeing the results on that one and any comments you have on last weeks poll.

If he doesn't call he's not interested, Q.E.D. Don't waste your time and effort thinking about it, move on!
Age gaps are interesting. I voted that it doesn't matter once you're in love but I've noticed that as men get older the age gap between them and their partners broadens. That's why it's so hard for us over-40 girlies to get dates! Those of us who tell the truth about our age that is. I didn't realise so many people here lied about their ages until recently. Now I know why I'm getting such a paltry response here - people think I'm lying about my age and I'm really 71, not 41!
Back to age gaps, I reckon that people in their teens and 20s are happy with a 1-5 year age gap, in the 30s it's 5-10 years, and in the 40s it's 10 years plus. Men who are on their second relationship after a divorce or separation seem to go for a woman who is much younger than their ex-partner. It's not very encouraging for us 40-plus women. Age is only a number but it might as well be a dose of bubonic plague if you're a woman over 40 looking for a date!
I think the problem is that men dont realise they've gotten older! They know they used to chase women in their 20s and 30s when they were younger so they dont see whats different now! I think people should consider if they're contstantly targetting people say 15 years younger than them, take a second to think would they date someone 15 years older? Or for the person they're hitting on, would THAT person date someone 15 years younger... I think not! Personally I'd rather date someone who was born in the same decade as me - just reckon you have more in common lifestyle wise, and with expectations, etc... having said that i've a wide variety of friends of all ages and it really matters very little once you have personality stuff in common. So er yeah - guess thats me comfortably plonking down on the fence - each to our own - whatever makes us happy! JPD
Having said that, evolution has driven men to search for youth and beauty, and women to search for security in the form of status/resources/etc...which is why you often see MUCH older men dating these young things, or relatively unattractive guys dating some hot chick...what can I say - its a biased world! JPD
Oh I forgot to add the one exception though....Sean Connery....yum! JPD
hmmmm I dont mind any age difference really, I dont think of a date as falling madly in love a date for me is spending quality time with the opposite sex even if its just 15 minutes over a coffee, I am a good listener and its nice to get to know a person and hear their story.
I have dated women much older than me and women a few years younger than me, it doesnt matter what people think if you see someone you find yummy then go for it.
